Innocent Blood: Unrighteous Deaths of the Righteous

Scripture is threaded throughout with interconnections, both forward-looking and backward-looking. The Good Friday death of the innocent Messiah, Jesus of Nazareth, is foreshadowed and reflected in the biblical accounts of other deaths endured by numerous innocent sufferers, from Abel to Stephen. In this seven-part Lent study, six of these tragic killings are linked together with the crucifixion of Jesus, leading us to contemplate what it all means for how we live today.
