The diverse experiences of our community of foreigners mirror what many missionaries will experience abroad―especially those going to Japan. They will forever be foreigners in that land. And many of the people in our church know, in their own ways, what that’s like.

Paul appeals, “my little children, …I am again in the anguish of childbirth until Christ is formed in you!” (Gal. 4:19 ESV). That’s always been the heart of reformation–Jesus Christ formed in me, in us, in his church. Christ Alone, my righteousness, my peace, my everlasting life.

Called by God to lead this infant nation, Moses had been extracted by God from a sheep tending career and pressed into leading this strange adventure. People who knew nothing but slavery journeyed into the wonders of freedom in a land that would be their very own.
